How much should a viable business sell for?

I have the opportunity to buy a business as a sole trader that currently has turnover of approx £50K and net profit of approx £43K.

Its not up for sale yet but it will be soon. How much is a reasonable price to pay.

The business is in rented premises so it is just the business for sale.

How much should a viable business sell for?
There is no easy answer to your question, particularly as we have so little information about the business and what it does. Often a business may change hands for the value of one years turnover however this is certainly not a hard and fast rule. The final answer relies on profitability, payback time and ultimately what you (or someone else) is willing to pay for it. Be very careful that you know what you are getting into before parting with your money. You should employ a solicitor to handle the sale.
Reply:There is no magic formula to sell all businesses on I am afraid.

Depending on the sector there may be some tenuously agreed multiples (of, say, EBITDA) but even these can vary wildly from case to case. Just because you turnover £50k doesn't mean that the purchasor will do the same with it.

YA will not help you value a business for sale. An accountant will.
Reply:I usually start by

calculating 10 years discounted cash flow

plus the current net book value.

Then I start playing with the numbers,

taking out goodwill,

looking at my projection assumptions, etc.

Does anyone know how i can start my own nail salon business.?

I would really like to own my own business and in the town where i live there is only 1 nail shop in the downtown area and there are about 4 nearby high schools. I think this would we a great opportunity for a business like this. Any advice would be appreciated.

Does anyone know how i can start my own nail salon business.?
Hi. Sounds like a good market oppertunity. Find out what rent and utilities are for commerical space. Then factor in a "salary" for you or the nail tech. Then set aside cash for furniture and supplies, permits and fees for professionals like lawyers, insurance, and accoutnant. Multiply the monthly costs by 12. Expect to spend a year or more before you have enough business to break even and begin to make money so if you don't have that $ ammt. in savings you may want to look into small business loans. To start out you may want to rent booths so you can build traffic and spread the risk and investment around instead of you paying EVERYTHING while the word gets out. Take an ad out in the HighSchool Newspapers (just call them) and offer a small discout if they show their school ID. That'll get you the school business. Thats the stuff right off the top of my head.

Jamaica-- Real Estate and Business Opportunities?

I will be headed to Jamaica in January for a week (Ochos Rios) and was wondering what kind of business opportunities or real estate opportunities exist in that area that I might be interested in checking out.

If there are any, with whom should I get in contact to get more information? What kind of hoops am I going to have to jump through in Jamaica to start/buy a business or buy real estate?

Thanks.

Jamaica-- Real Estate and Business Opportunities?
Insight into real estate investing in Jamaica

IN THE current environment of relatively low money market interest rates, rising property values and tepid stock market returns, real estate investing continues to be very attractive.

General Manager of FirstCaribbean Building Society, Lenworth Tracey, explains the benefits of real estate.

"There are real estate investors who want short-term returns and could consider new developments. In this arrangement you buy pre-construction (before building is completed) and then resell when the development is completed to earn significant returns.

"However, for someone who is planning for retirement, the investment objective would be long-term. This investor would consider a more established property where they can get rental income and a more modest capital appreciation.

"And once the property has adequate equity, you can access that money to buy another property, start a business or fund education for themselves or their children."

However, investing in real estate is not as easy as it may seem.

First of all there is the cost of entry. Realtor Joyce McEchron of McEchron %26amp; Clarke explains that the mid-range price for investment property would be around $8 million to $14 million. "In this market, that price would buy either a two-bedroom apartment or a two-bedroom townhouse."

However, this can be financed and Mr. Tracey explained that second-time buyer could access a mortgage at 15 per cent, or use a home equity loan at 18 per cent.

LOCATION

Next, is the location. The experts say that this is one of the biggest risks in real estate investing. If you buy in the wrong location, you may not be able to resell or have to cut your price to create demand.

Mrs. McEchron adds, "Investors should consider the Kingston 6 and 8 areas where they can command good U.S. dollar rental."

And if the thought of collecting U.S. dollars is your idea of landlording heaven, Janet Phillips of Keyland Real Estate cautions that you have to provide a hotel-like atmosphere for these discerning tenants.

"Tenants who pay U.S. dollars usually come to Jamaica with only their suitcases. And so, as the landlord, you have to provide every single thing. They want all fixtures, 24-hour manned security, furniture, air conditioning, washing machine and dryer, forks, napkins, dishware, swimming pool anything they would find in a hotel."

However, for investors with a more modest budget and expectations, Mrs. Phillips advises that the rental market in the $15,000 to $25,000 per month bracket is underserved. "There is such strong demand that these properties almost rent by word of mouth."

And regardless of your investment objective, there is the cost to own. REIdepot.com says, "Unlike investing in the stock or bond market, real estate has ongoing costs. There is monthly maintenance insurance, repairs, property taxes and property management fees if you are an absentee landlord."

Note that local property managers charge, on average, 17.5 per cent plus general consumption tax of the monthly rental income.

don't forget that YOU are basically that business - It's a personal relationship with you that keeps them coming back - the customers might not like who you sell to so, it may be very hard to value the business properly. you might want to bring in a partner for one year to ease the transition, so the customers get to know the new owner

What do you think about this "Make Money on Internet" Opportunity ?

I was searching for a home business opportunity and came across a website which was offering a free membership. I signed up with them and they have given me this website http://MyNetMarketingCenter.com/r/sub/ra...

for free as well. Could somebody tell me is this the rite opportunity?

What do you think about this "Make Money on Internet" Opportunity ?
If you are looking for a work from home opportunity... I work with an Inc 500 Company that has been in business for over 20 years... and has experienced growth in ALL 20 of those years. They have excellent published credentials... and even send all of those working the business a monthly magazine which tells you exactly what the average income for each representative is. The compensation plan is very easy to understand... and there is no stocking of products to sell. It is the first program that I have been involved with that has actually paid me every month AND my upline is very supportive and doesn't charge me for training. The company mission statement is: "Enhancing the lives of those we touch by helping others to reach their goals. The basic principle is revenue sharing.. the company believes in rewarding those of us who help them to get the word out about their products. PLUS... they offer a complete money back guarantee on both the products and the business plan. What I like best about the opportunity is that NO-ONE can possibly get hurt. If you would like more information about how I suppliment my income from home...contact me through my Yahoo 360 page. No promises of get rich quick... just accurate information on how, if you actually work the business you can build a legitimate business for yourself from home. Work for yourself...NOT by yourself.
Reply:Because so many 'work at home' opportunities are scams, frauds, or designed to make money - for the plan operators, not you - it's a good idea that before you invest time and especially money on any home-based business offers, you educate yourself on the different types of home work based schemes there are out there, and what to look for - and what to look out for - before making any commitment

Consider the following:

1) does it cost you anything to join?

2) Can you talk to people who have been successful in the business? They should be able to provide you with names, and possibly phone numbers, of people in your area.

3) How long has the company been in business?

4) Are they manufacturing the product, or reselling somebody else's product?

5) What do you have to do to be paid?

6) Are you required to accept products every month in order to make money from selling them? Meaning, you will have to buy something each month, whether you sell it or not.

7) What has to happen for you to make a lot of money, and how long is it expected to take to do that?

Where can I find a real work at home JOB not a business? If anyone can offer any suggestions or referrals.?

I have tried several different things, which all turned out to be work at home businesses or opportunities. I am only looking for a work at home JOB so I can be home with my kids and still have an income. I have experience in the Data Entry field, so anything within that range that pays an hourly fee would be a good start for me. If anyone has any advice, referrals, please help. Thanks

Where can I find a real work at home JOB not a business? If anyone can offer any suggestions or referrals.?
Forget about finding a stay at home job on the internet. Most opportunities are scams. Either they want money up front or are collecting personal info or are some kind of multi level marketing.

Look to what you know. If you have experience in data entry, contact past employers or companies who might need data entry work and create your own business.
Reply:Check out www.alpineaccess.com they hire you as an employee to do customer service. They also pay you as you train. However, because they get so many applications, they only hire 2% of their applicants. Good luck. I'm going through ARISE formally known as Willow CSN. Although they only contract with incorporations, I am actually okay with that because everything I use for my business is a tax write off. Good luck in your search!
Reply:transcription is the way to go. You can a decent money doing this. and you need little experience.
Reply:I say create your own job. I opened a ebay store 3 weeks ago and have make a profit of $560, so far. (That's not including ebay fees that are due at the end of the month) What's cool is that I sell different things I know are hot. Like wholesale list, cell phones, etc. A guide that helped me out was about selling wholesale list, and you can view it for free at http://www.myshirtmakesmoney.com/wholesa...

But honestly, I say that those work at home oppertunities are for those who wanna pay someone else there hard earned money only to have to figure out for themselves how to actually make a dollar. Do yourself a favor and start your own method, pass it down to friends and family, and tell others that you don't need waste time with someone else's get rich scheme.
Reply:A word of advice - watch out for any online "job" that requires an upfront fee, no matter how glowing the recommendation from the person telling you about it, since they'll get a cut of your fee if you sign up so that's why they are usually pushing it. Most of the online ones don't really get you work, they just claim to give you a list of places who are or might be looking for people, and are basically scams.
Reply:Hi there are alot of online job out there. You have to be aware that most of them will asked you to pay to join them. If you are interested working from home send me a email, may be I can help you.
Reply:If you are wanting to stay home with your children and work, may I suggest medical transcription? A friend of mine has done this for the last 3 years and really enjoys it. Her time is her time. She can do her work whenever she wants, and hand the transcriptions in by their due date. The pay is good for a stay at home job. No need to get involved in a business. Good Luck finding something!!
Reply:I have a couple of at home jobs. Actually one of them I hire people to work from home. There is no start up cost or anything because it is actually working for a company. So if you could get in touch with me so I could interview you, maybe this JOB might be for you.

I want to quit my job and start my own business. Does anyone have suggestions on quick start-ups?

My job is stressing me out so bad. I am an executive assistant with over 10 years of experience but I am sick of working for people that don't appreciate my talent. I know that eventually, I will have to stop being scared and start my own business. I need an opportunity to be a mother to my children (daycare is EXPENSIVE) yet I have to bring in some sort of income so I don't lose my home. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I want to quit my job and start my own business. Does anyone have suggestions on quick start-ups?
Having your own business can be more stressfull and not so financially rewarding as many may think. It is often better to have a (9-5) job so to speak knowing you can come home and leave the work problems at work and have time for your family.

Saying that, being unhappy is no good either. So why not look for other opportunities in the work place. Even it is only a temporary thing until you come up with the right answer for a business.

You could always try getting admin type work from home. but that is not going to give you much money. You will know the right idea when the time is right. Don't go looking for something that is probably not there. My daughter is in the exact same position. She is just itching to get into her own business but doesn't know what. So it is not the time to do anything yet. You will know when that time arrives with the right idea.

Good luck in the meantime. I am sure there are a lot of employers who would like to have your experience and appreciate you and your work. Just go find them.

Reply:A business that you could start up fairly quickly would be a cleaning service. There seems to be a decent amount of money to be made. Are there any legitimate no cost Work At Home business opportunities to make say $500 to $600 per week?

It is a network marketing business, but it is one of the most unique business models I have ever seen. Basically you can choose a role. You can be a marketer/advertiser, a trainer, or a reqruiter. So if you don't like talking to people you can be an advertiser, if you don't like selling but you like talking to people you can be a trainer. These people are really into helping people out, and helping people succeed. Anyway, if you are interested go to http://idreamoffreedom.visionsuccess.biz... Anyway, if you think youre interested just fill out the form to get more information.

Facing family dilema, have built a successful business, have an opportunity..?

I have a Rental Business, we rent jetskis and boats.

Have a construction business and we are sitting good, have good employees.

And have a great guy that is trustworthy that has never taking advantage of me that I know of.

My dilema is that I have always wanted to gold mine, like in going to Alaska and setting up a mining operation, now most would say I am going thru mid life, but I have wanted to do this for over 20 years.

My family has had a large claim in Dawson Creek, Yukon territories.

Now my wife is sick and will not get better, she is 32 while I am 42.

We have 3 children together, but she thinks its not wise to go.

Better to stay close to her family, and her personal Doctor.

Think this wouold be good for us to get away, as a family and spend time just us together.

What does ANYONE think?

Moved from where I grew up to live close to her family due to her health.

Live in Idaho and really miss the water and mountains of Seattle planned on mov. to Alas. B4 health problems

Facing family dilema, have built a successful business, have an opportunity..?
I think getting away would be a great idea, medical records can be transfered and there are lots of good doctors out there...we all make sacrafices in life.....there could be a lot of ways that you guys could work this out...maybe commuting, she could bring the kids and visit time to time when they are not in school and or on long holidays......in every relationship there is compromise........

That way it's a win-win situation: you have not commited to a permanent move there while your wife is ill but you still are able to settle affairs as far as the claim goes. After a week or a month or so, you and your family can go back to Idaho so your wife can see her doctor.
Reply:If you love her more than your ambition, more than anything on earth, I suppose , you could stay with her. If you think of adventures, for all you know, you have found adventure in where you are . I mean, having to take care of your sickly family member and having to give up many of the things you hold dearest to . Aren't most heroes those who are willing to many things in life just for those they love? It's hard but you can do it if you think you can.

You can't lead with the opportunity. The best way is to share your experience and build a relationship. Answer the questions professionally and in turn provide contact in your profile.

You could even post your profile as a source if you wish.

I suggest that you be real. Assist people and avoid just blasting your biz opp. I hope it helps.

BEST WISHES!

P.S.

Providing honest solutions to others needs is the key in any business. You can not claim to be providing a solution through solicitation. Building a relationship is helpful.
Reply:I guess It depends on who you ask and what your opportunity is. If you offer an opportunity that they have already

tried and failed at they are more likely to report you.

As long as your opportunity is not a scam and it

is something the asker is interested in they may be more

receptive and even join you opp.

What I do is try to answer questions honestly and try to offer them something Specific to their question

I also always try to leave a link to my website in the source box.

My best advise is to keep trying. Not everyone will reject your ideas or opportunities

Good Luck

Reply:Most people are interested in opportunitirs. (free). Naturally when they suspect, they report. But if it is wrong reporting, there is every defence against it, Be alert and bold. Face the problem head on....
Reply:Yes. People always want to know how they can make more money.

The problem is that most Biz Opps just don't work. I wish they did.

Good luck.

What are the business opportunities that exist in clean energy?

Start up a natural gas filling station! We need many more of these, now that it's catching on. I have 2 cars that run on natural gas, and it's way cheaper and cleaner than gasoline, but not every state is on board with it yet. Utah, California, Oklahoma and Arizona seem to be at the top of the list for getting the ball rolling, but there's a lot of opportunity everywhere. Look into it and see what you think.

How Do you find a financial backer for a small business?

I have previously owned a small business, it was very successful but one of our trucks completely died and the other kept needing repairs that the company we leased the truck through was supposed to fix for us. They never fixed the problems so we gave the truck back. Unfortunately now that is considered a repossession and I declared bankruptcy due to never incorporating my business. I have the opportunity to get started again, and I still have my major contract. I can provide additional information to anyone interested. I just don't know where to look. This is my life dream, if i had even 5,000$ last time I could have fixed my truck and never went bankrupt. I want to do this right, and be successful. I am a hard worker and until the problems with that truck my credit was immaculate.

How Do you find a financial backer for a small business?
First, I congratulate on your entrepreneurial spirit and determination.

Second, I would advise that you learn from your mistakes, but don't dwell on them.

Now, the good stuff. The first thing that you need to is understand the idea of "planning" your business. You need to consider a formal business entity structure both from the position of liability and from the position of taxes and other financial concerns. Formation as an LLC or Corp. can help avoid situations like your past one that led to a personal bankruptcy. Most likey, you will find an LLC sufficient for your needs and optimal in consideration of requirements for maintenance of the entity. Moreover, the pass through taxation aspect may appeal to you as well. In any case, consult an attorney or do your own research regarding available structures in your state.

Next, you need to consider the capitalizaton of your business. Many businesses fail due to under-capitalization,and it appears as though this may have been an issue in your past. Put simply, this means that you need enough money to get the business up and running and keep it that way. You need to have "enough" money so that you can meet the bills that are to come and to support the business until the business can support itself. Like business entity choice and formation, this should be part of your business plan.

Insofar as actually raising this needed capital is concerned, there is (1) debt financing and (2) equity financing.

Debt financing is a loan. Basically, you go to a bank or other financial institution or person with money to lend and ask for a loan. It sounds as though as a small business you likely need a relatively small amount to get started, so an SBA loan may be optimal. Insofar as banks and SBA loans are concerned, you should expect to be required to provide 25-33% equity in the venture, assuming you meet the lending guidelines. This means, that if you need $100k for the business, expect to contibute 25-33% of that yourself in order to secure the loan. You can use equity in your home, investments, and a host of other assets to "put up" as collateral toward the venture, as well as plain old American cash. Now, an SBA loan is NOT money that the govt loans to you, but is a loan that a lender provides, subject to standard guidelines, that is basically secured by the government for the benefit of the lender. All of that said, it sounds like you will likely need to improve your credit score and/or secure the equity needed for the loan if you elect to pursue debt financing.

Equity financing, on the other hand, may be a better option for you, assuming that you have the wonderful, can't miss business that you think it is. Equity financing is basically selling a piece of the business to an investor. So, let's say you find someone with money. You do your plan and figure you need $100k. You may "sell" a half interest in the business to someone for say $100k, and you do all the work, execute the plan, etc. This "partner" may be silent or may want a more active role. Either way, you may be looking for an "angel" investor who helps you to realize your dream.

Keep in mind, however, that there are consequences to either approach. Debt financing, although it may be a debt of the business, may likely be personally guaranteed (translation: you still have responsibility in the event of the business' default), and in any case, may subject you to losing the collateral. However, once paid, you don't owe anyone anything and the business is YOURS. Equity financing, however, requires you to give up ownership interest, but at the same time does not have to be repaid. The investor is "betting" on your success. And, if you succeed, the investor owns a chunk of your business--period.

In your case, what you may want to consider is some sort of combination--find a partner who has good credit and maybe can contribute some of the needed equity and maybe you get an SBA loan, secured by the necessary collateral, maybe using the partner's credit. A fair exchange may be your putting up the equity and the partner putting up the capital. This may work, but really depends on the lender's guidelines.

Finally, as it appears that you have a customer base/contract and have experience in this business, you may have a stronger business plan than you think. What you should be careful about is underestimating contingencies as you did in the past. If you are asked about "what happened" in the past, be honest and explain that you failed to adequately plan and capitalize the venture and have learned from that experience. Meanwhile, your skill/expertise in the underlying "thing" is outstanding, and you just need to make sure that you have the proper foundation and structure in place so that the business can be viable and grow into a self-sustaining and profitable venture. Your capacity to do "the thing" is most definitely a consideration in the financing process. After all, who would invest in a chef's new restaurant if the chef can't cook or if the cook never went to cooking school and has never ran a restaurant before, but is basically a pipe-dreaming accountant? The fact that you can do "it" is important and should give you hope.

In any case, I wish you the best and hope that I provided some useful information.

If your prior truck wasn't repo'd but they offered to take it back instead of repairing it then have them remove the false information from your credit report.

I have an opportunity to take a business trip that could mean the success of my business, should I go?

I wonder if as you say, it could mean the success of your business, why you would even want an opinion? If you feel it's something good, that it will progress your business and it's not unhealthy or dangerous, consider any other reasons that may be causing you to have "dobuts". You are the only one who can truly answer this question.

I have an opportunity to take a business trip that could mean the success of my business, should I go?
What factors are there that you aren't telling us??? Why wouldn't you go!!!
Reply:of course you should go if it could mean the success of your business.

Do those people who reply with "business opportunities" and "work at home" online businesses annoy you...

...as much as they annoy me? People ask legitimate questions about careers or employment, or how to find a career they like, or how to change careers, etc., and these scam artist trolls post this junk about "hey, go to my website where there is a wonderful new online business opportunity, it will change your life" blah blah blah. Any thoughts?!

Do those people who reply with "business opportunities" and "work at home" online businesses annoy you...
Yes, but more so that they prey on people who can least afford to be ripped off! Those scammers are the lowest of the low.......I don't know why advertisers accept them, doesn't say much to me about people who let them advertise.
Reply:I disagree with your feelings on people posting their ideas! It doesn't annoy me. My husband posted a question a long time ago on work at home jobs for me, he got a lot of feed back on it. I looked at every single one and did find one that I got involved in and I thank God that he asked that question on Yahoo! Because I love what I'm doing now! The information they gave my husband was very good! I actually had quite a few different options offered to me, but the one I chose was perfect for me. I read up on all the magazine's they were mentioned in. I did a little research because it all seemed "to good to be true", but to find out it is the best thing that I ever came across (well, except my husband and children of course!" Now, I have the best of both worlds, a really good income (which didn't take me long to acquire) and time with my family and time to do the things that I want to do in life! So I don't think there's anything wrong with people posting opportunities for people. Hey if they are legitimate companies what's wrong with that? Not all things people post is for everyone. If someone suggested a nursing job, and you don't like that type of job, would you feel they were, "blah blah?" how about if someone suggested you get involved in realistate? To me, these are all just suggestions. When you post a question on Yahoo, your going to have to understand that your going to get a lot of different answers. Some you may not be into, and others you may like. Either way, they are all just suggestions and you don't have to do what people are suggesting. Is that any reason to "report" abuse to someone's suggestion just because you don't like what they suggested? To me these types of people are abusing the "abuse" buttons. If you don't like what someone suggested, then so what, don't do what they suggested. It's pretty simple to me. Your going to go through life with people making suggestions to you that you may or may not agree, so do you throw them in jail for offering help in something they like and think you might be interested? I don't see the crime in this. Like I said, if people don't like what's suggested to them, normal good people, just fluff it off their shoulders and continue on looking for what best suits them. Ya know? I hope you don't take what I am saying offensive, you asked the question, so I'm giving my thought on it. I've watched my husband on Yahoo many times reading questions people ask at night, and this troll thing and people reporting abuse etc etc is hilariouse. Why let it bother you? Is it really that bad of a thing to post something you think they might be interested in? I don't agree with what you posted, should I report you as abusing? No, it's your thought, your question, and that's your right! So should it be the rights to others to post what they beleive would or could help someone else asking a question. It's up to the person who asked the question rather it's for them or not.

Because of the responses my husband received, I learned a lot! What to look for, what interested me etc.

So, I'm sorry, but I don't agree with it being annoying. If people don't like the answers they get and allow them to be annoyed, then they should stop asking questions if they know they're going to get answers that are going to annoy them. Or just learn to be able to brush it off instead of allowing yourself to be so upset over something that is kind of petty. Ya know what I mean?

Again, I hope that I didn't offend you, but this is what I think. If noone posted the business opportunities, then I would of been in the same place I was in before.

don't let people's posts get to you. Ignore posts that you don't like and be happy with the ones you do like. Make life simple for yourself okay?
Reply:It depends upon the company you are signing up
Reply:yeah it's annoying. The only one who's life is changing is the liar who's stealing your money. The messed up part is that there are ways to make money working from home, but you won't get rich off them and they're hard to find. Most everything that people advertise are scams anyway. I found a site stopinternetscams .net that someone posted on here and it's pretty helpful. It tells some of the newest scams and ways to make money online that aren't fake. It's just an info site and doesn't sell anything either.
Reply:Im not sure how much they annoy you to compare if they annoy me that much. But i can definatly say that they are trying to make money by offering some people their "dream" job of working at home.
Reply:I do wish ugly things for them and all spammers!!! Unfortunately they just get a new ID and are back on here in less than 3 minutes.
Reply:It's all Spam. you have to pay for the material...or some dumb lecture!
Reply:heck yeah and then they claim you can make $5000.00 in like a week or so
Reply:It bugs me, too. If someone is asking about a work from home or mlm opportunity...or even self employment, by all means answer. Answering, though, with the same drivel no matter the question is spam, imho.
Reply:Yes, that do. Very much. The people who will tell you to call in and they'll send you their free brochure or the actual 'stuff.' I often wonder what is behind the scenes there. Then there are the ones who will tell you they tried this certain 'stuff' and they are making 30,000 a month. What?????

If that were the case there would be no such thing as 'welfare.'

Software developer in search for business opportunities, any ideas?

After doing some side business for a while and working for several years for big companies I think I am ready to take the next step.

I am a software developer in the GTA (Great Toronto Area) and I don't know where to start.

Initially I thought of advertising in a local newspaper, preferably one focused on small businesses, offering my development services for free and charging for maintenance or hosting (if the customer decides to have access to the application from anywhere). Of course, I will have to evaluate the proposals and choose one that is also attractive to me as a business, therefore it will become sort of a win/win situation.

After this stage I will start commercializing the applications I initially built for free.

Please let me know your thoughts on this approach. Or, if you have other ideas please feel free to expose them.

Also, if you have a small business and have a need, let me know.

Software developer in search for business opportunities, any ideas?
you may want to focus on an industry type, develop a type of usefull software for that industry type, and then template it so that you can easily adapt it to many users so that you can charge a more reasonable cost on the front end and have the user and service fees cover your on going cashflow requirements.

example

Realtors, car sales, insurance, mortgage brokers, and other professional sales people, all need and want better contact information systems (although there are many in the market)

create one that has some magic bullet, offer it to the agents, their brokers, the industry in general and off you go.

another way is to form a partnership with a company in need of a software and web based solution to a business opportunity. they have the business concept, you create the web and software solution for marketing and distribution around it and sell the product and or service.

a third way is to work with for instance an educator/ public speaker, and create a partnership where you make it possible for the speaker to offer his her wares, on line by subscription, and instant access. (learning on line).

I have a few ideas in regards of this type of services and would not mind discussing it with you in a different medium.

I hope this helps you Good Luck

Join a business club (bni, etc), go on line and look at some of the chatrooms (ukbusinessforums.co.uk) is a good start, put one of your ideas into practise and show what you can do. I have a friend who's full of ideas but has never actually made it, so being entrepenerial is only the start, you need vision, drive, persistance and bravery at times.

What are your top 10 worries about home based business?

What is your doubts about home based business ideas and opportunities?

What are your top 10 worries about home based business?
These were my worries before I started my home business:

1) not reliable - Scentsy is completely reliable, they do everything they can to make their consultants and customers happy

2) would not be able to find people interested in the products - I've found that the safety Scentsy offers is the number 1 selling point. People who never burned candles before because of the safety risks are now melting Scentsy products!

3) would not be a stable amount of income to fund my "mad money" account - I've gotten paid every month since August!

4) too expensive to keep going - I pay $12.75 per month on my website and new scent testers. Some direct sales companies require you to pay more than double to keep up your business.

I only ever had 4 worries about direct sales. Scentsy has definitely cured those worries. I love the products and I think that's the one thing you have to look for in any home opportunity. You have to have interest in the product or service you are promoting.

If I pursue a Masters of Science as well as a Masters of Business, what job opportunities are there?

I'll be attending UCSD in the fall for my freshman year. They have a program where I can receive a Bachelor of Science in 4 years, but also a special program where I can work to receive a Masters of Science after just a year of graduate school. I was thinking of combining this with an MBA program. I'm not sure if I want to go into medicine or business as a career. I'm also debating double majoring in Human Biology and Management Science (or do one of them as a minor), then pursuing either a Masters of Science or Business. What job opportunities are there for people with an MS and an MBA? Is it worth the time and money or should I choose a more specific path into either business or medicine?

If I pursue a Masters of Science as well as a Masters of Business, what job opportunities are there?
That's pretty ambitious and I'm all for people learning a lot, but if I could give one recommendation to people is to work for a few years after attaining a bachelor's degree before they pursue a master's. How do you know you want to go into business? What area of business? There are so many variables that I feel you may be wasting time going directly from undergrad into a grad program. I worked for ten years before pursuing an MBA and I knew exactly what I wanted to do by then and the coursework was infinitely more meaningful with real world experience behind me. Sure, you will have plenty of job oppportunities with both a business degree and MS, but it's worth seeing what you want to do before jumping in.

Business is a degree that's getting oversaturated. There are so many people going into business that the degree is losing its credibility. If you truly strongly believe business is right for you, make sure you specialize in something, such as economics, accounting, or supply chain management. This will turn out for a much better career for you in the long run.

Honestly ! Are people really making money with these internet home business opportunities ?

I read so much on the internet about instantly making hundreds and thousands of dollars from the comfort of your home. Some of these sites give you a free websites where you sell e-books and e-courses, yet others tell you how you could make thousands of dollars with Google ads, e-bay, affiliate programs, and you name it.

Have you had any experience with this, does it really work, or are there hidden costs as advertising etc, that would leave the average person penniless after a few days ?

I am begining to feel sold on all this and I would really appreciate some real answers from some real people.

Thank You

Cyberk

Honestly ! Are people really making money with these internet home business opportunities ?
Wow, the kind of question you are asking here makes you really vulnerable because people who are hungry for your money will be here presenting to you with many opportunities which some could be scam.

Make sure you research for whatever opportunity that is presented to you before you decide to head on for it or even pay for a scam like me a couple of months ago. Just go to google and type in the "opportunity" followed by the word "scam".

If things shows, it could be ugly...stay away from them...

I've been through what you went through, honestly 99.99% out there is hype when it comes to making money online through selling ebooks and such...Sure, you will make money provided you do it right....

Here's how i see the make money online industry teaching about affiliate marketing, ebooks and ecourses....

99.9999999999999% is hyped...why? because they are all written in sales letter. What sales letter is suppose to do is to get you to buy their products? And what kind of products? Make money products!..that's right...it's no wonder they hype up the entire thing...

Now I want you to imagine this...if u join an affiliate program called A.com and A.com sales page sounds very convincing with proofs of money and such.... You'll probably make more money promoting A.com than executing what A.com teaches you. Because whatever A.com or those sales letter websites sells, will always be hype.

I took along time to figure out this truth....if you want to make more money. Promote affiliate programs with convincing sales letters and not buy their programs..

I made money through promoting it...not learning it...

However there are several ways people make money on their blogs or websites...

1.) They join Adsense and put up google advertisement..they used to pay well but now..for every click you might only get a couple of cents...and unless your website has lots of traffic..i feel it's not worth the space..what kind of information do you need about adsense..my suggestion is it's not worth pursuing...

2.) You can join affiliate programs and put up advertisements or recommendations that pays you 1o times more than adsense.

I was where you were when I was being retrenched but I've got scammed because i was desperate.

There is also another way called affiliate marketing where you can make a living online without your own products which I have been doing for the last couple of years....

Affiliate marketing is kind of like a virtual salesman. Where you sell other people's products and they pay you for it. The only difference is, you do not have to do it physically.

With the power of internet. You can join Citibank as an affiliate and promote their credit card facilities through a link and they will pay you handsomely for it.

One of the best places to find all kinds or products you can find to promote is CJ.com (commission junction)... CJ.com has lots of products you can choose from....from big names like Citibank and such...

You join them and they give you a unique link which is unique only to you...All you have to do is to promote the link for people to click and visit. If your visitors buys another product through your link..you are instantly accredited some commission.

CJ.com is FREE to join..of course it's free, you're helping them to make money...LOL..

There are also other ways to make money like

offer people good offers like cash rebate on whatever they job with think eBay, Gap, Old Navy, Circuit City, Target and more..And, whenever anybody we refer shops, we get paid too--FOREVER.

Yes, I have a home base business and it work for me. Yes, I make a living off of travel sell and selling on-line travel agencies too and other program within my company as well.

My name is Katie Forrest, I am a qualified nutritionist and I run a successful network marketing business from home. I have been doing this for a while now and can confirm that yes, money can be made from network marketing opportunities, etc.

HOWEVER - if you see any opportunity claim to make you hundreds and thousands of dollars instantly or easily, it is a con.

Running any sort of business is hard work and takes time, and you won't see a profit immediately. It's unrealistic to expect to.

If you're interested in learning more about my business, for which I'm always looking for new people who are committed and motivated, contact me at katiektk@hotmail.co.uk

Reply:The opportunities that I have personally found to be most profitable (and legitimate) are affiliate programs, direct sales, or network marketing businesses that offer a viable product or service. Most often in those "let me teach/show you" opps that offer an electronic product or "training", the creator of such program is the one who benefits the most. The money is instant for them because they are experienced at targeting certain groups of people, unfortunately may not be as instant for you.
Reply:The business of selling home businesses is the only one that is really making money. Can anyone prove me wrong?
Reply:YES THEY ARE!!

There making tons of money from stupid people who believe on get rich quick scams and those who buy them.
Reply:I've been a home business owner now for 2 years and I can honestly say yes, people do make money if they work their business. As it is a business and not a job, you do incur advertising costs. how much you pay on advertising should be roughly 10% of what you would like to earn. As far as selling e-books and e-courses that's not a business. Thats offered by people who's been in the Industry long enough and knows what people who's doing a home business need, which is more education. Think about it, who said it was easy, or who said it was get rich quick, or don't work and you'll get paid? Those definitely don't work, however if you'r elooking for a legitimate business that you get compensated for your work and leverage your time while building a multi figure income, then that makes it easier than going to somebody's J.O.B everyday and only gets paid but so much at the end of the week. The question is are you looking to get rich quick, or to find a business that has a very high profit margin where you can leverage your time and efforts?
Reply:Hello Cyberk,

There is some good money to make off the computer if you are the one running the show, as soon as you pay someone a big cut of your profits for some reason to someone else, then is when you are not making money.

The only true people making money off the scams you are talking about are the people who are selling you the course, or how too's.

When and if you do ever want to get into one of these programs that you see on tv or what not, just remember 1000 other people see what you are seeing too. For instance that warehouse thingy on tv late at night. Where the dude says he gets $1000 pay checks or whatever in his mail box every week or month, he doesn't tell you the $999.99 he paid for inventory or his time or whatever....

If it looks to good to be true usually it is.....

Legitimate money making Home Business Opportunities-Are there really any out there?

I am looking to stay at home now so I can finish breaking out some of my 07 horses and yet bring in the extra income needed. I would like to know if there are actually any money making projects that can be done from the home or the computer w/ little or no cost to me. I am very skeptical about the whole Home Business thing because I have been "taken" in the past. I have recently been told that there are Legitimate business opportunities out there. You just need to know where. Can you help me find them?

Thanks, Cindy

Legitimate money making Home Business Opportunities-Are there really any out there?
I’d recommend SiteSell as it comes with a Money Back Guarantee so check out their new blog: http://blogit.sitesell.com/wotsnext.html

Find the type of business on the link below that best describes what it is that YOU do (or want to do). Then see how to truly use the Net to make your specific business (or business idea) thrive. http://www.wotsnext.com

It works for me. As an example, take a look at how I use the SiteSell. Then see if you can fit something similar around your own area of expertise. Then all you need is a passion and some persistence. This page links you to all the resources I use. http://www.psychic-junkie.com/are-you-ps...

Why is UK seeking migrants? What are the job and business opportunities in UK?

How many migrants does the country permit every year? What are the post-landing benefits the prospect will get after he lands in the designated country? What are the regulations related to the child education at different levels? What is the education system in the country? What is the post-landing documentation that he must meet? What is the overall cost of migration that he should plan for, including department and lawyer fee as also the travel costs? What are the minimum post-visa settlement funds that the prospect must take with him as per regulations? What are the caution areas for applicants with his specific background and occupation? What are the regulatory provisions, for major categories like Engineers, chartered accountants, teacher’s vis-à-vis meeting the post-landing accreditation of the related professional bodies in the UK? Which are the designated professional bodied for main professions and occupations? What is the minimum wage in UK? What are the likely pay scales?

Why is UK seeking migrants? What are the job and business opportunities in UK?
The policy of the Labour goverment since its 1997 election has been mass immigration into the United Kingdom, be it from Eastern Europe, Asia or Africa.

The aim being to drive up land housing prices with increased tax revenues and at the same time by mass immigration the deconstruction of the United Kingdom so that it can be merged into the European superstate EU.
Reply:We don't want immigrants we are just to wet to say no. Also you are better off with no documentation at all because the people at the immigration office are probably your countrymen who will recognize you as one of their own and grant you asylum with a 6 bedroom house.

That's the way we protect our borders.
Reply:I don't think Barry is wrong.

We basically don't want to do the sh1tty jobs anymore. Paying minimum wage to immigrants solves that.

In addition it also creates housing demand and of course with more people, there's more spending, therefore growth in GDP.

Unfortunately I think the UK economy depends on it.
Reply:The UK is no longer seeking immigrants.Try another country.
Reply:There are lots of jobs over here and we are lazy that is the answer
Reply:If there are no jobs for the Brits, then surely there are no jobs for the Immigrants. So why are we allowing them into the country. We are starting to hit the poverty line in this country. Would you be better dead or is this the way the Government is trying to achieve to make all the poor in the UK starve to death.
Reply:I don't think we are seeking them - we just don't seem able to enforce our Borders.
Reply:The jobs that were open to those wanting to come to the UK legaly were doctors, nurses and those who are qualified in the health industry. A lot of people are comming to the UK to look after those with mental dissability since the government closed most of the hospitals for the mentally dissabled and sold off the land to developers, private care now costs the taxpayer a fortune and needs more staffing than the state run system used to require. Doctors that were encouraged to come here by the government are now being discriminated against by the government (a nonsense I know but a leson NOT to trust government). You need to demonstrate an ability to support yourself and family, pay for private health insurance and not be a burden on the state. If you are seeking a low paid job fruit picking or the like you need to register with an agency that contracts to provide seasonal workers, they will probably rip you off so be cautious.

So to come here legally it is as dificult as most other countries unless you are seeking asylum when the gates seem fully open.

The other way is to come here illegally and claim asylum if spotted, now then you will get all sorts of handouts and not be allowed to work. Free accomodation, mobile phone, shoes, clothing, money etc., perhaps even a government issued knife or gun (many that have flooded through Dover port carry knives and guns).

Most unfortunately the policy to alow everyone to come to this small and overcrowded island has built up many problems not least of all housing and worst of all crime and hatred. The tolerance and even embracing of other races in the UK has declined as many see themselves being pushed out, the young are particularly influenced in this way. The more that government legislates against us Anglo-Saxon inhabitants to cover up their massive errors on imigration the more the resentment builds.

We are in the grip of a dictatorship, a one party state with no propper democracy and fear is the method that our government uses to keep control. Shoot an inocent Brazilian electrician in the head seven times and once in the chest as a public execution and then tell a bundle of lies, murder a weapons inspector because he is about to divulge the truth about Iraq, blow up a train from underneath the carriage and then try to silence the survivours who claim the floor was ripped up, not down.

The UK is not what it seems and the pavements of London are NOT paved with gold. Go to the government website and search imigration, there is lots of info on their websites.

Think it through before you come and good luck.
Reply:Why UK is seeking immigrants? Because half of the Brits can not read or write their language.
Reply:If you're thinking of emigrating to the UK don't bother, it's too dangerous. Killers are let loose, muggers get on the spot fines, everyone carries knives, children lying drunk in the street, child killing pervs are let out of jail to live near schools, all houses now need security cameras and alarms and even the ruling labour are under police investigation. I'm just going to take my car wheels to bed. Goodnight
Reply:I can't answer any of your questions since none of these apply.

If by some chance one or two are dealt with somewhere it doesn't matter anyway.

No one is responsible for anything out of the five million people employed by the state.

When something goes wrong it's usually the fault of the indigenous population who, if young enough, are leaving at the same rate as the incomers.

Don't worry about not being English, that race no longer exists.

Do you have any idea if you have some business opportunities between Japan and other countries?

There are so many different business opportunities that are world wide. I don't know what your interested in doing, but

over six years ago my husband and I started our own home based business in the telecommunication industry. It well supports our family of six. Most home based business's cost under $500 depending on what your doing.

We partnered up with a 15 year old world wide company that offers services that people use every day and pay for anyway. Services like Local and Long distance telephone services, Internet, video phones, digital phone services, VOIP, Satallite and all the major cellular phone companies like Verizon, AT%26amp;T. T-mobile, Sprint, Alltell, Nextell etc have partnered up too. How many people do you know, or know of that use any or most of these types of services? Everyone uses these services and pays for them. You save them money on the services that they are already using and every month they pay their bills you make a percentage off of it. It's an incredible amount of income you can bring in with this industry. It's also pretty simple to do from home.

If you'd like more information, feel free to email me.

There are a lot of other home based business's to get involved in, in other industry's as well. I created a blog on home based business that are good to get involved in too. Your more then welcome to take a look at my 360 page blog on home based business's. There are over half a dozen to choose from on there.
