You just have to know what your local market demands are, what are the prices, how can you sell and how much.. and pls remember also that every start is hard at the beginning.

Sadly, scams come and scams go, but where you want to start with your question is "what is it I really want to get involved with"....in other words, ask yourself what you truly feel passionate about and start your decision from there.
Once you have determined what is important to you - what you want to become part of your life business wise, find out what the company is willing to offer you, and please, feel free to set up a strict criteria of what you want and don't want....after all, this will be a HUGE part of your life!
Example questions would be:
-do you want to do demo parties or not?
-how do you feel about direct sales?
-are you okay with cold calls?
-what kind of start up costs are involved?
-how supportive is the company with it's training and on-going support?
- is the market trend supporting what I'd like to be involved with?
I could go on and on but I think you get it - be diligent in your questioning and standards. Don't get involved in the "get rick quick" schemes or start throwing large amounts of money into something that is not willing to give back.
Once you find something that really fits your expectations, continue to look really closely, inside and out at the company, and should be all that and then some, and it feels great, then give it all you've got because at that point you will already know that you have something that you truly believe in and that it stands for everything that is important to you.....you can not fail unless you do nothing at all at that point.

If you really want to work online and have your own business your best bet is partner up with a company that direct sales a product. That's what we did. You can create a web site, or have the company set up a web site for you to sale the products and services. Or collaborate with different companies. After you've set it up, you'll have to generate traffic to your site as means of either advertisement (which you'll have to spend a lot of money doing) or the more effective way is word of mouth and referals, which are free and more effective. Partner up with a company that gives you monthly earnings from services that you put people on either by in person, phone or from your web site. What I mean is for instance, my husband partnered up with a telecommunications service provider and all the cellular phone companies. Someone purchase a cell phone from our web site, or a land line or Internet service or whatever, the product it'self your able to provide at a whole sale cost as a distributer through the providers. Workable Business Opportunity?
Variable Universal Life Insurance Policies (VUL) makes up over 20 percent of the Life Insurance Market. There are so many negatives to VULs. 1) Charges a ridiculously high fee every month. 2) Carries a huge surrender charge if you can't afford to maintain the policy or decides to exit the policy. 3) Average performance of about 8 percent a year. I find it is so much better to buy term life insurance for a one time fee and investing that difference somewhere else. Would you think it's great if we can convince ppl with VUL to exit their policy and switch to buying term life insurance and have us manage the money leftover? Would that be a great way to find clients or investors?

I wouldn't target people with VUL's. If they don't want to do their research and make their own decisions, next year someone else is going to switch them back.

The client need something called "HABIT". Insurance products are designed to help client to buid the saving habit as well. Eventhough the return is not that fantastic but they are able to save a little at a time plus the protection.
I will strongly suggest that u should not twist the policy and just invest their additional money with you

When you hear the claims of twisting, it is someone in a major insurance company who sells this stuff. VUL is the Insurance industry's answer to A.L. Williams/Primerica for buying term and investing the difference. Unfortunately, this insurance still, in most cases, is not the best for the client. If you Always work in the client's best interest there is nothing the industry can say to you or do to you to stop you. That was proved from the beginning, and still, with A.L. Williams/Primerica. We want the agents to keep writing this stuff so we can come through and fix that mess up.

The "forced discipline" can be solved by setting up an automatic draft from you checking account.

5. If a company is worth it's while, it will come with not one but several mentors who will all teach you their own unique way of doing business. You can choose which one works best for you.

I have Identified what I believe to be an excellent business opportunity for my company. I have shared the idea with the sales director and he has shown his interest in the opportunity. to formally study the opportunity and to take it up with other related departments he has asked me to formalize a internal business proposal.

Yes, it is possible, but not suggested. You would expect to see the opportunity assessment as part of a business plan. It details how your product or service meshes with the marketplace... for example, does the company offer something that the competition doesn't, does it offer a better product/service, is the marketplace underserved by your product/service.
If you plan to have others invest in the business, they will want to know that the opportunity actually does exist. You'd need to detail how you are certain that it does.

here is what I do.
If you live in the Niagara Area (Welland, Fort Erie, St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, etc.) then you can go to 1110 Hansler Road in Welland, Ontario
It is data entry - at home. They pay you by cheque every 2 weeks. You are considered a contract worker.
What you do is pick up mail twice a week. I pick up the mail every Tues and deliver it back on Thurs. I pick up another tray of mail on Thurs for the next Tues delivery. You can pick your days, but you have to stick to those days. I think they also have Mon, Wed and Fri delivery and pickup days too and you can check that out when you go there.
The more mail you do, the more you get paid.
I also work a full time job outside the home, so I do the mail when I get home after work.
It is processing rebates for any company that has a rebate - mostly American companies but some Canadian ones too.
The customer sends for the rebate to a central warehouse in NFNY, then that warehouse sends it to Welland where they contract it out to the home workers.
Bring your resume there to Hansler Rd in Welland, tell them you want to be a home worker - the company is called Continental Promotions and the head office is in Arizona.
You don't need any experience. They will train you. It is very easy work - just data entry of name, address, ph, email and UPC codes. If you can type you can do it. They will start you off with only 50 pcs of mail to see if it is the right job for you.
I now do 1200 pcs a week, but if I didn't work outside the home too I could do more. My friend delivers my mail for me cuz I work days. She does 1800 pcs of mail cuz she does not work outside the home and to her, this is her full time job. so you can do how many you want, you just have to ask, but remember that whatever you bring home to do, you have to bring back finished.
I have been doing this for 2+ years. I make approx $500.00/mo but like I said, if you do more, you will make more. It is not much money but it pays some bills for me.
Anyway, it is a legit company.

If another seller sees you have a product that sells well they'll immediately try and get on the bandwagon and underprice the item meaning you get less sales. It's a cut throat business!

The Federal Trade Commission has a number of advisories for various types of 'online' or 'work at home' business types. Take some time to review them, and follow the FTC advice on what to look out for.

Is Canada a nice place to live for immigrants as far as work and self-business opportunities are concerned?
My family and I are thinking of applying for the Canadian permanent residence very soon. I want to be self-employed by opening a shop/small business while my spouse who is a foreign doctor can practice there or work in a hospital/clinic. I seem bewildered by the pros and cons about living in Canada. Some say even foreign doctors really have a hard time finding jobs despite the shortage of doctors there; due to scarcity of jobs or bureaucracy, educated people have to take jobs as cab drivers or pizza men, for instance. Some even have the websites for those disliking Canada: www.notcanada.com and tell all kind of scary experiences there. Some for Canada say it's certainly a great place to be. I went to schools in the US, loved it there and have siblings living there permanently, but I'm worried about the high crime rate due to its relaxed gun control. You may consider things like working as a virtual assistant for webmasters, running your own blog, freelance work(writing-coding), selling on Ebay.com and so on. None of these options would require any sort of investment to get yourself started.
Since you would also be interested in working offline as well, here are some job ideas I have done or come up with in the past:
Professional Dog Walker
Picking-up and Delivering groceries for elderly
House/office cleaning
In home computer repair(if you know how)
Yard work/mowing/etc.
Really, it comes down to your interests. Sit down and figure out what you enjoy doing, and then you can come up with a way to include that into your business plan. For instance, lets say you love selling on Ebay but don't have the money to buy merchandise. You could begin selling unwanted items for neighbors, family and friends to build up a reputation and then open your service to anyone interested.
Another example would be, lets say you enjoy working with elderly and disabled people. So you advertise your services in the local newspaper, that says you can deliver groceries, help around the house, read the morning paper to them, run to the store and so on. Now you can accept as many clients as your current schedule will allow for and you are running a home business.

I don't think a home based business or even a traditional business (working outside the home) would be right for you if your not willing to put an investment in. What your looking for then is an ordinary minimum wage job. Any business that your going to start up or get involved in is going to cost you some sort of cost. Depending on what you want to do would depend on the cost. If your not willing to invest in something, then your not willing to be a real business owner. Business's cost money to start.

I don't think a home based business or even a traditional business (working outside the home) would be right for you if your not willing to put an investment in. What your looking for then is an ordinary minimum wage job. Any business that your going to start up or get involved in is going to cost you some sort of cost. Depending on what you want to do would depend on the cost. If your not willing to invest in something, then your not willing to be a real business owner. Business's cost money to start.
If you are willing to invest something, there are quite a few home based business's that cost under $500. Depending on what you want to do would depend on how much it would cost.
