Globalization is an inevitability. So you might as well look at it as an opportunity for business. Anyway markets are more fun when there is more demand and more choice of supply.
Is globalization a threat, or an opportunity for business?
Globatisation is about the coming together of countries and cultures and creating a common link between different countries and cultures and people.
This is a good thing, a really good thing (less "us vs them" mindset, more international co-operation, more trades, less war and conflict. The amount of old enemies that have become friends over the last century is pretty cool - England/France, England/USA, USA/Mexico, Gemany/Rest of World, China/USA, Russia/USA
Globalistion is why the Soviet Union fell, and why China is opening up to the world, because they know they cannot stop the changes. Communist china has private ownership of almost every business.
And its an opportunity, not only for business but for humanity.
Reply:Both.
It is a threat for the short sighted who does not understand it, the cowards that do not accept risks, or the very conservative that do not want anything to change.
It is also a threat for people who has not very transferable skills, or who are too old or dumb to learn and keep themselves updated. They would lose their jobs.
It is an opportunity for poor countries to participate in the world commerce, creating new jobs, opportunities, etc.
It is an opportunity for small companies to grow.
It is an opportunity for individuals to be free, working independently, because the world is their market.
By the way. The world is being globalized since it started. Only that much faster now. (See Cristobal Columbus, Captain Cook, crusades, etc)
