I haven't seen the place personally but when I saw the city at www.youtube.com, I'm impressed. Try to see it yourself and you will know what I mean. They have plenty of business establishments and they keep on constructing more...It means that there are lots of foreign investors who gave their interest to that " Rich-oil" country. You can also see state of the art buildings and only dubai itself has them, like the only 6 or 7-star hotel in the world and the soon to be completed tallest twin towers in the world. It has plenty of awesome sceneries that other arab countries don't have. The city is clean and one of my friends told me that there are no robbers, you can leave your things un attended. The airport itself is very beautiful and they are constructing a new one, more sophisticated.
People are already civilized although they are still following the traditional muslim culture, more and more emiratis ( as they were called) have gone to western countries, so perhaps they already absorbed the western cultures. They are friendly according to my friends who have been there and one of them got married to one of the emiratis. They are good looking guys and gals since we all know that they are situated almost in the meditteranean, so they have combinations of persian, african, european descent. However emirati ladies are still bound to the usual tradition of a muslim and they should be respected otherwise you'll suffer the penalty. You can still see guys who wear Dishdaya the traditonal clothes for men along with women in their traditional clothing. The weather is extreme hot during summer and cold during winter. They have heaters everywhere during winter and aircondition during summer so you need not worry about the extremes. Winter there doesn't have a snow but its very cold and you will experience sand storm. During summer at about 50 degrees celsius, the heat is still tolerable coz there is no pollution and the breeze of air coming from the dessert compensates to lessen the nasty feeling ...unlike in my country where heat and air pollution combined, so it's really upsetting. I will go there soon to work as a Nurse in one of the hospitals so I researched a lot about this city.
Hope i have given you plenty of bits and pieces of information to stabilize your doubt about Dubai..."Sala'malay-kum!" :-)
Hello what is Dubai like? Is it fun to visit, are their business opportunities are they friendly to foreigners
Howdy, Haven't been there yet, don't have the M-O-N-E-Y. I do hear from the travel logs that they are friendly and also to foreigners with means to spend the green paper. I think there are business
opportunities.

Reply:I think that's where Michael Jackson lives now. I guess its fun to visit. All the rich stuff without nasty things like laws to get in the way.
Reply:I understand the local Halliburton office is hiring. Want to drive a truck?
